Goat Intended As Wedding Gift Escapes, Found By South Jersey Police

Paulsboro police said the wayward goat was found Sunday wandering near the Paulsboro Fire Department in Gloucester County.

PAULSBORO, NJ — A wandering goat in a South Jersey town was reunited with his owners Sunday with the help of a Gloucester County police department.

Paulsboro police said the wayward goat was found shortly after 6 p.m. near the Paulsboro Fire Department near West Billingsport Road and Delaware Street, according to authorities and a report from CBS Philadelphia.

Police shared a photo of the goat on Facebook hoping to find his owners.

"So this is a first for us. Did someone lose their goat?" police wrote on Facebook. "If so, please call so we can get this little guy home before he eats his way out of the enclosure.

Police later shared an update that the goat's owners had been found.

"Freddie is a wedding gift that took a leisurely stroll from where he was being hidden until gift time," police wrote. "Thank you for all your help."
