Latest Accumulation Predictions For Weekend Snow In NJ

See what the latest models are predicting for the potential weekend snow:

By now you know that there is a chance for some snow across New Jersey this weekend, but don't go racing out for the milk and bread just yet.

The latest predictions for this weekend's winter weather estimate New Jersey will see just a few inches of snow Saturday night into Sunday, if that. A snowstorm expected to mostly impact portions of West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland could leave some accumulation behind in New Jersey as it passes through.

South Jersey will bear the brunt of this system, and could see up to 3 inches as a result. Forecasters say very little accumulation, if any, will fall in the northern part of the state. "Any snowfalll farther north is likely to be light and/or brief," according to information from AccuWeather.

The NWS out of Mount Holly has not released a map of accumulation predictions, and its current forecast expects little to no accumulation. The government shutdown does impact the accuracy of NWS forecasts, reports The Washington Post.

The good news (if you don't like winter): this blast of winter won't last long. Warmer-than-average temperatures are expected to return next week, with highs in the 40s expected.
