Major Shift In Weather Pattern Coming To NJ: Latest Forecast

A warm-up that could break temperature records, showers, thunderstorms and more are in store for this week, forecasters say.

A big warm-up is in store for New Jersey this week, bringing with it rain, thunderstorms and potential record-breaking high temperatures, according to the latest forecast.

"A warming trend will prevail through mid-week as a
warm front lifts northward across the region, though clouds and spotty showers will accompany the front," National Weather Service forecasters said Monday morning.

There will be showers Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday will be the warmest day and will have the chance of thunderstorms.

A cold front Wednesday night will bring showers and storms. After that, temperatures will fall, forecasters said.

The good news is that it likely won't last for along, according to the forecast.

"Temperatures on Thursday will only fall into the mid to upper 60s or low 70s, but ramp back up to widespread 70s Friday through Sunday," National Weather Service forecasters said.

Forecasters aren't too confident in that, though. The cold front could stall over the area, bringing clouds and cooler temps.

Unsettled conditions will linger into the weekend until a cold front moves in Sunday or Sunday night, forecasters said.

Here's the latest forecast.
