NJ Teen Accused Of Kidnapping Infant Located By Authorities: Report

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The New Jersey teen accused of kidnapping a 1-year-old boy over the weekend and refusing to return him to his mother has been located by authorities, according to a report citing police.
Akera Johns, 16, was charged with kidnapping after authorities said she took Hakeem Hintzenfrom the Cumberland Family Shelter on Mays Landing Road in Vineland on Saturday. U.S. Marshals found the boy in Philadelphia on Monday.
According to a NJ Advance Media report, police said detectives located Johns overnight Wednesday in Philadelphia. No other details were released.

Earlier reports said Johns and the infant were last seen Saturday afternoon before they were reported missing, and officials said they believed the pair were heading to Philadelphia.
Investigators told NBC10 Philadelphia that Hakeem's mother permitted Johns to have him for a period of time, but Johns refused to return him when she was supposed to.

The pair was spotted in Philadelphia on Monday morning near 32nd Street and Susquehanna Avenue.
According to multiple reports, Johns dropped off Hakeem with an anonymous party in Philadelphia. The party contacted a member of the baby's family, who notified the U.S. Marshals Service.
Hakeem was taken to Philadelphia police headquarters, and authorities charged Johns with kidnapping.
