Foul-Smelling Tap Water Plaguing These NJ Communities: Here's Why
It's not the pool's fault.
There's an end on the way to water smelling and tasting like chlorine for residents across the state.
New Jersey American Water is conducting a scheduled routine treatment change and will go back to using chloramines towards the end of the month.
The Raritan-Millstone Water Treatment Plant in Bridgewater and Canal Road Water Treatment Plant in Somerset will revert back on April 20 and serve the following areas:

New Jersey American Water began its annual program in mid-February for maintenance on the water distribution system and temporarily implemented chlorine rather than chloramine for 10 weeks.
Chloramines are disinfectants that have been used for more than 40 years by New Jersey American Water and meet all U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) drinking water standards.
