8 Inches Of Snow Could Fall In Parts Of NJ: Latest Forecast
Winter is sinking its teeth into parts of the Garden State twice this week, forecasters say. Here's what to expect Monday and Tuesday:

NEW JERSEY — Up to eight inches of snow are possible in parts of New Jersey overnight into Tuesday, with sleet and rain expected in other portions of the state.
AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Joe Lundberg said this will likely be “the biggest storm of the season to date” for much of the Northeast. The low-pressure system moving into the region late Monday also carries a risk of ice for some northern New Jersey counties, with some districts already delaying classes.
The most recent models show five to eight inches of wet snow possible in the interior portions of northeastern New Jersey, with the highest amounts falling north and west of I-287.

Winter storm warnings begin Monday evening in Sussex, Passaic and Morris counties, and western Bergen county, with between five and eight inches possible. Conditions will be hazardous for the Tuesday morning commute, officials said, with “significant impacts” expected along the I-80 corridor.

Totals aren’t certain for the New York City area; warming winds could turn the snow to rain or a wintry mix. Warren County will see three to five inches of snow and a light accumulation, the National Weather Service predicted.

South of the heaviest snowfall, there is a risk of ice in northern New Jersey counties snarling traffic or causing local power outages, according to AccuWeather. Hunterdon and Somerset counties are under a winter weather advisory until 7 a.m. Tuesday, with one to three inches of snow expected and a light glaze of ice possible.

Sleet is expected early Monday evening in the I-95 corridor from near Trenton to Philadelphia, but accumulation will be limited, the NWS predicted.
