Overturned Tractor Trailer On NJ Interstate: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:28 a.m., there's a crash on the George Washington Bridge upper level eastbound New Jersey Side Toll Plaza in Fort Lee. 1 center lane blocked.

As of 6:39 a.m., there's a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike - Eastern Spur southbound ramps from Alexander Hamilton Service Area in Secaucus. 1 right lane blocked.

As of 5 a.m., there's an overturned tractor trailer on I-80 westbound west of Exit 19 - CR 517 in Allamuchy Township. 2 left lanes closed.

As of 8:38 p.m., there's a sewer collapse on Sip Avenue in both directions between US 1 and West Side Avenue in Jersey City. All lanes closed for emergency sewer line and sinkhole repairs.

Central Jersey

As of 7 a.m., there's construction on US 9 in both directions from south of CR 614/Lacey Road in Lacey Township to south of NJ 166 in Beachwood. Right shoulder closed intermittently until 5 p.m.

As of 4:15 a.m., there's construction on I-295 in both directions between Delaware River/Scudder Falls Bridge in Ewing Township and Exit 73 - Scotch Road in Hopewell Township. Both shoulders are closed and one lane may be closed until further notice.

South Jersey

As of 6:26 a.m., there's flooding on NJ 47 southbound US 130 in Westville. 1 right lane closed.

As of 6:25 a.m., there's flooding on US 130 in both directions on CR 551 in Brooklawn. All lanes blocked.

As of 5:38 a.m., there's a crash investigation on NJ 47 in both directions south of CR 739/High Street in Maurice River Township. All lanes closed.

Transit Updates

North Jersey Coast Line and Northeast Corridor NJ Transit lines are under temporary schedule adjustments are in effect for the next six to eight weeks to accommodate major repair work to the Laurel Avenue Bridge in Holmdel. See here for updated timetables.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect a severe thunderstorm or two late Friday morning into the afternoon, per the National Weather Service. Strong to damaging winds are also possible, as well as small hail.
