Man Stalked, Harassed Gov. Sherrill, Feds Say
The suspect, arrested this week, has a history of harassing politicians, records show.
A Pennsylvania man has been arrested after leaving “sexually explicit and derogatory" messages to New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill during her recent campaign run, authorities said.
Stephen Cilurso, 72, of Aldan, Pa., was arrested on Wednesday after it was discovered that he was stalking and harassing Sherrill in October and November of last year, according to the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia.
Officials said that the New Jersey State Police issued a warrant for Cilurso’s arrest on Jan. 22.

Cilurso was arrested in Aldan and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

This isn’t the first time Cilurso has been accused of harassing politicians, as he pleaded guilty to similar behavior against Glenside Congressional Office of U.S. Representative Madeline Dean five years ago.

Cilurso left 19 “lewd voicemail messages” to Dean over the span of eight days in February 2021. He also mentioned the Proud Boys and the Dean’s testimony during President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial, officials said.
Additionally, Cilurso pleaded guilty to summary harassment in connection with a Dec. 25, 2021, incident in Aldan, court records show.
