Rounds Of Storms To Hit NJ Sunday, Forecasters Say

Rounds of storms and high humidity are set to return Sunday afternoon and continue into the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Saturday started off sunny and dry, showers, thunderstorms and humidity are expected to return on Sunday afternoon, with temperatures dropping toward the low 70s.

On Monday, showers are expected to linger, though it will still be warm and humid, the NWS said.

NORTH JERSEY
- Sunday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 83. South wind 5-13 MPH. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Sunday Night: Showers. Low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
CENTRAL JERSEY
- Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Light south wind increasing to 5-10 MPH in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 8 p.m. Low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
SOUTH JERSEY
- Sunday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 5-15 MPH. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers after 2 a.m. Low around 74. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch are possible.
