3. A 15-year-old girl faces attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting near a carnival at a New Jersey mall last week, said officials. The shooting was near the grounds for the multi-day LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs) Fest, officials said. 4. Someone threw a lit explosive device from a pickup truck near where two pedestrians were walking in Ocean County over the weekend, police said. Two pickup trucks were seen driving slowly, side by side, along the road right before a lit item was tossed and exploded.(Read more on Patch.)
5. A teen surfer is recovering after an apparent shark bite at a Jersey Shore beach. The 15-year-old, a Pennsylvania native, was surfing in Stone Harbor when she was hurt Sunday.
