• Man taken into custody after search for reportedly armed individual in Newton, police say (wrnjradio.com) — Andover residents should know that Andover Township Police assisted Newton authorities after reports of a possibly armed man who allegedly threatened someone, prompting a multi-agency search on Friday. The suspect was later found near Pine Street and Woodside Avenue in Newton and taken into custody without incident, and police now say there is no active threat to the public. Officials are withholding further details to protect the victim’s privacy.
