Bruce Springsteen made two surprising appearances in New Jersey this weekend. And he appeared with some old friends at his old stomping grounds.

Springsteen made an appearance Southside Johnny’s annual July 4th weekend concert at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on Saturday.

Rolling Stone said Springsteen came onstage to join his friend on a rendition of “Sherry Darling” and then stuck around for “The Fever,” “Talk to Me,” “Kitty’s Back,” ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home,” ‘Mona/Not Fade Away” and “Having a Party.”

Earlier in the day, Springsteen appeared with E Street Band bassist Garry Tallent on the same stage, joining him for “Dirty Rotten Shame,” according to Rolling Stone.
