ASBURY PARK, NJ — All of Asbury Park's voting districts are now in Tuesday night, and Amy Quinn is in the lead by 536 votes over Dan Sciannameo to be Asbury Park's next mayor.
From the Monmouth County Clerk, here are the unofficial results. Again, this is with all the voting districts in as of 10 p.m.
For mayor:
Amy Quinn: 2,239 votes
Dan Sciannameo: 1,703
"I'm not conceding," Sciannameo said Tuesday night. "They still have to count all the mail-in ballots and certify the vote. I'll look at this again (Wednesday) morning."
For city council, choose three:
Garrett Giberson - not currently on the Council: 1,222 votes
Al DiGiulio - not currently on the Council: 1,741 votes
Angela Ahbez-Anderson (current Councilwoman, running for re-election): 817 votes
For Asbury Park school board (choose three):
Longtime Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn ran for mayor, with outgoing Mayor John Moor's backing, and she was challenged by Dan Sciannameo, a two-term member of the Asbury Park Planning Board.
In his campaign, Sciannameo made the planned renovation of Convention Hall a key issue — he is skeptical of the renovation, and the $75 million in tax breaks the state gave the developer, and called it "politically motivated to benefit Amy" in an election year.
Sciannameo also accused Quinn of running a culture of friendship and favoritism in City Hall — "If you want something from city government, you better be in good standing with the deputy mayor. If you're not, good luck to you."
