Asbury Park Film Festival: What You Need To Know

The Asbury Park Music & Film Festival begins this weekend. Below is the complete schedule, which will include an appearance from Danny Devito as part of the anticipated "Danny Devito Day" announcement that Gov. Phil Murphy will declare.

Today, the city is enjoying an artistic and economic renaissance and music remains at the center of it all," according to the film festival's website. "Asbury Park is emerging stronger and more vital than ever, and the festival will help maximize its resurgence with unparalleled music and film collaborations, attracting a diverse audience from around the region and around the world."

Murphy is expected to issue a statewide proclamation on Saturday declaring Nov. 17 as "Danny DeVito Day." in honor of the Neptune-born actor. "I was very flattered. Of course, they first told me I could have a beach. Yeah, but they reneged. So I said, 'Oh, that's perfect. It's New Jersey.,'" DeVito told The New York Times.
