U.S. Marshals Nab Jersey Shore Man Charged In March Shooting: Prosecutor

A Jersey Shore man has been charged in connection with a shooting last month in Asbury Park that left one injured, authorities said.

ASBURY PARK, NJ – A Jersey Shore man has been charged in connection with a shooting last month in Asbury Park that left one injured, authorities said.

Kenneth R. Bronson, 18, is charged with first-degree attempted murder and two related second-degree weapons offenses, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Wednesday.

If convicted of attempted murder, Bronson would be eligible for up to 20 years in state prison.

On March 20 at around 6 p.m., Asbury Park police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Langford Street, Linskey said. An adult male shooting victim was found at the location. An investigation conducted by the MCPO Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department culminated in Bronson being identified as a suspect in the case, and he was arrested by members of the Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service on April 5 in Brick Township.

Bronson is lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) pending a first appearance and detention hearing to take place in Monmouth County Superior Court.
