NJ Towns Say Get Out Of The Water This Weekend: Here's Why
Remember when Gov. Chris Christie said that? Well, NJ towns are saying it again. Here's why.

Remember that time Gov. Chris Christie said "get the hell off the beach" just before Hurricane Irene?
Well, it's another day, another year, and another hurricane is here. And now, even though Hurriane Dorian didn't directly hit New Jersey on Friday, maybe you should still get the hell out of the water.
This is what New Jersey and local officials are saying as swimming – and even surfing – was banned from virtually every square inch of water along the Jersey Shore on Friday. Some beaches are banning it on Saturday, too.

It's not clear if those bans will stay in place throughout the whole weekend. Most others, such as Asbury Park, said they would assess the situation on Saturday.

But forecasters are saying that rip currents are going to continue to make the ocean dangerous.
In Manasquan, the beaches will remain closed Friday and Saturday because of the dangerous water conditions.
In Long Beach Township, officials were warning all beachgoers to stay out of the ocean, noting there will be extreme rip currents which will last throughout the weekend.
"Ocean conditions are dangerous even to the most experienced swimmers. Winds are expected to increase throughout the day and conditions will worsen. Please stay out of the ocean!!!"
Ocean City didn't ban swimming this weekend. But the community did urge people not to do it.
And while the amusement park at Jenkinson's was closed on Friday, the seaside attraction does plan to reschedule its First Responders Day for Saturday. All First Responders (and immediate family) can ride the rides for free from 12 p.m. to close (with valid ID).
Here are some of the videos showing beaches virtually disappearing as Dorian had an impact on Friday:
