• Rental Units Ready for Occupancy At Former Armory (thecoaster.net) — Asbury Park's long-vacant National Guard Armory on Lake Avenue has been transformed into Armory Flats, 24 high-end apartments starting at $3,500 a month, with move-ins expected in October. The historic building, once home to the VFW and Chamber of Commerce, now offers parking and a walkable location, while its developer is planning another apartment-and-retail project on Memorial Drive.
   

• 'Who took them?' Beloved geese reportedly kidnapped from Deal Lake (app.com) — Neighbors along Deal Lake in Asbury Park are searching for two longtime resident white geese that witnesses say were taken by three people in a brown Subaru, prompting police reports in Asbury Park and Ocean Township. Lakefront residents, who've seen the birds in their yards for years, are checking cameras, contacting agencies, and urging anyone with information to help bring the geese back.
