Police Still Seek Leads In 2016 Neptune Township Fatal Shooting

Andre Thorne, 19, of Bradley Beach, died from a single gunshot to the chest on Feb. 8, 2016. Today, police ask: Does anyone know anything?

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Detectives with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office say they are continuing to search for leads in the 2016 death of a Bradley Beach man in Neptune Township.

At approximately 8:18 p.m. February 8, 2016 Neptune Township Police responded to 1306 7th Avenue for a report of a shooting. Officers found Andre Thorne, 19, of Bradley Beach, in the driver’s seat of a 2002 red Dodge Neon suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Thorne was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased, less than a month shy of his 20th birthday. Thorne was sitting in the car with two others at the time of the shooting.

A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Neptune Township Police Department is still active and ongoing.

"Despite the passage of over seven years since the murder of Andre Thorne, detectives from my office and the Neptune Police Department refuse to let the case grow cold," said Prosecutor Santiago. "It is our sincere hope that those efforts motivate individuals in our community to come forward with any information that they may possess.”
