He'll reveal total gala proceeds and other beneficiary groups Sept. 16 at Hard Rock Café. The ceremony drew large crowds to Jackson Avenue and the Boardwalk to honor local 9/11 victims and first responders.

5. Retired State Police major named new Atlantic County chief of detectives (downbeach.com) — Atlantic County has appointed retired State Police major James McGowan as its new chief of detectives, a role that will shape investigations countywide. McGowan, a Linwood resident, previously led security at Tropicana Atlantic City and worked closely with Atlantic City Police. His experience is expected to strengthen coordination among local, county, and state law enforcement agencies.
