• Grand jury declines to charge Atlantic Highlands officer in fatal 2025 crash (news12.com) — A state grand jury has decided not to bring criminal charges against an Atlantic Highlands police officer involved in a 2025 Route 36 crash that later claimed a Middletown e‑bike rider’s life. Investigators reviewed video, forensics, interviews and autopsy results before jurors voted “no bill,” ending the criminal probe while leaving civil or policy questions separate.
   

• Port Monmouth Section of Henry Hudson Trail Closing for Army Corps Project (tworivertimes.com) — If you bike or walk the Henry Hudson Trail from Highlands and Atlantic Highlands toward Port Monmouth, expect a major detour for the next two years. A half‑mile section in Port Monmouth is closing July 6 for an Army Corps flood‑control project, adding just over a mile to the route while long‑term work continues to better protect nearby low‑lying neighborhoods from coastal flooding.
