1,600-Acre Forest Fire Fully Contained In Southern Ocean
The Little Egg Harbor fire, called the Log Swamp Forest Fire, was fully contained Sunday after burning 1,607 acres.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ — The forest fire that burned 1,607 acres in Southern Ocean County has been fully contained as of Sunday morning at 8 a.m., state officials said.
The fire burned parts of Bass River State Forest, the Stafford Forge Wildlife Management Area and the Warren Grove Bombing Range, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
While the fire is 100 percent contained, staff remained on the scene to monitor the area, and smoke conditions may be present for several days.

A prescribed burn at the Warren Grove Bombing Range completed Feb. 27 by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service was key to both stopping the fire's progress and containing it, officials said.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.

The fire came just days after a fire burned through nearly 4,000 acres of the Pine Barrens in Manchester.
