At the same time, a passenger vehicle was stopped at the stop sign on Parker Street and was attempting to make a right turn onto Hillard Boulevard, according to police. As the vehicle entered the roadway, the juvenile's e-bike collided with the passenger side of the vehicle.

The juvenile was injured in the crash and was transported by medical helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation and treatment, police said. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

No charges have been filed, according to the police department. The crash remains under investigation by the Stafford Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.

The department also used the incident to remind residents that e-bike riders must follow traffic laws and stay aware of their surroundings. Police encouraged parents to review New Jersey e-bike laws with their children and make sure they understand when to yield, how to safely cross roadways, and the importance of wearing a helmet.
