Attempted Burglaries Lead To Charges For Barnegat Man: Police
Aaron Douglas, 21, tried to break into cars parked in a driveway and later was seen peering through another home's windows, police said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat man received multiple charges after trying to break into parked cars in a driveway and looking through the windows of another home in the same evening, Barnegat police said.
Aaron Douglas, 21, was charged with attempted burglary and criminal trespass on Tuesday in connection with the two incidents, police said.
On Feb. 17, police were told of someone trying to gain access to vehicles parked in the driveway of a Schooner Avenue home, police said.

But because the homeowners had locked the cars, the would-be thief was unsuccessful, police said.
Later that evening, someone was seen peering through the windows of a Spruce Circle South home, police said. Descriptions matched the same person from the attempted car break-in, according to police.

Det. Robert Armstrong's investigation, which used both video surveillance footage and information from residents, identified Douglas as the suspect, police said.
Douglas was processed and released, according to police.
