Pilot Rescued After Banner Plane Crashes In Ocean Off LBI (VIDEO)
Lifeguards rescued the pilot, whose injuries don't appear to be life-threatening, according to police.

SURF CITY, NJ — A banner plane crashed in the ocean off Long Beach Island on Saturday afternoon. Two lifeguards rescued the pilot, who was treated for minor injuries.
The incident took place at 3:20 p.m. Saturday off 13th Street Beach, according to police. Surf City lifeguards Scott Meggitt and Charles Orborne quickly brought the pilot back to shore.
Surf City Fire treated the pilot, and EMS took him to Southern Ocean Medical Center. The Federal Aviation Administration and Surf City police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Surf City Beach Patrol, Surf City Fire/EMS, Ship Bottom Fire Co., Beach Haven Fire, U.S. Coast Guard and the New Jersey State Police Marine Division assisted with the rescue.
