Barnegat Drunk Driver Strikes Lacey Cop Car: Police
The man struck the police vehicle while they were stuck in traffic, according to authorities.
BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat man struck a police vehicle while driving drunk Saturday night in Lacey, according to authorities. Patel A. Prashant was charged with driving under the influence, police said.
Officer Julie Barcalow was stuck in traffic on Trenton Avenue at about 9:26 p.m.when a vehicle struck her's from the rear, police said. Balcalow found Prashant to be under the influence of alcohol.
Prashant, 44, of Carriage Way, also received summonses for driving while intoxicated and reckless and careless driving, police said.
