Barnegat Home Destroyed By Fire, Investigation Has Begun
No one was in the house at the time, dogs rescued from garage, police say.

A two-story home at 1467 West Bay Avenue was destroyed by a "heavy" structural fire that ripped through the residence Tuesday afternoon, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
Multiple fire companies from Southern Ocean County responded to the blaze, which was fully involved by the time they arrived.
A portable pond had to be set up for a water supply, since there were no nearby hydrants, according to Jersey Shore Scanner News. The fire has since been knocked down.

Barnegat Township Police Lt. Keith Germain said the call came in at 4:20 p.m. The fire is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Barnegat police department detectives, he said.
