Barnegat Man, Carrying Wine, Enters Atlantic Co. Home, Yards: PD

Hamilton police believe he may have taken the wine bottle out of someone's refrigerator.

HAMILTON, NJ — A Barnegat man faces charges after walking onto yards and entering at least one home Tuesday morning, according to Hamilton police. Authorities said they found Nicholas Kutassy concealing a bottle of wine.

Police received multiple complaints of a suspicious person entering yards in the center of town — specifically on Hanthorn, 2nd and 3rd Streets. Kutassy entered at least one home with an unlocked back door, authorities said.

When police located Kutassy, his wine bottle was chilled and contained condensation, suggesting it was recently removed from a refrigerator, authorities said.

Kutassy didn't find the bottle of wine in the home he entered, police said. Hamilton police believe he entered a second home, who residents may be unaware of the incident.
