Barnegat Man Hospitalized From Head-On Manchester Crash: Police
His injuries aren't life-threatening. But a Manchester woman is in critical condition, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Barnegat man was hospitalized and a Manchester woman is in critical condition after a head-on crash late Thursday afternoon on Route 530, Manchester police said.
Marco Sadsad, 46, of Barnegat, was taken to Community Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, said Lt. Vincent Manco. Ombra DeMaio, of Manchester, was listed in critical but stable condition Friday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Manco said.
The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. on Route 530 near Congasia Road. Sadsad was driving a gray 2015 Toyota Sienna and had pulled off the road onto the westbound shoulder of Route 530, Manco said.

DeMaio was driving a silver 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer east on County Route 530 and crossed the centerline at a curve in the road then crossed the westbound travel lane into the shoulder before hitting the Toyota head-on, Manco said.
DeMaio, who was wearing her seatbelt and had airbags go off, sustained neck and chest injuries and was flown to Jersey Shore. Sadsad was not wearing his seatbelt but also had airbags go off, Manco said.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, Quality Medical Transport, and MONOC paramedics. The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Michael O'Hara of the Manchester Township Traffic Safety Unit.
