Barnegat Morning Report, Jan. 26

Good morning, folks. Today is Thursday, Jan. 26.

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

Coming up first thing is a story on the latest local indictments out of the courthouse in Toms River, including the charging of two 19-year-old township residents for burglaries allegedly committed in October.

We've also got a story on a county native and former New York Giants running back who's now making a difference in the lives of kids around the state.

EVENTS:

• Yes, it's nearly the end of January, but that doesn't mean flu season is over. If you haven't got a flu shot yet, you can do so today at the county from 3 to 6 p.m. at its headquarters at 175 Sunset Ave., Toms River. The shots are covered by Medicare Part B; otherwise, they're $20.

• The 's "New You for a New Year" series continues at 7 p.m. today with a fun decorative makeup class for teens ages 12 and up. Learn how to apply makeup "Gaga style" from two local stylists. Bring the makeup you're currently using and a tabletop or hand-held mirror, and be ready to have a little fun. Parental permission is required.

Too warm (weirdly warm tonight, in fact) for winter weather here – just rain in the forecast, along with the possibility of some gusty winds.

• Today: Rain likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming southeast between 6 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. 

• Tonight: Periods of rain. Temperature falling to near 44 by 8 p.m., then rising to around 54 during the remainder of the night. South wind between 11 and 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
