Barnegat Police Dispatchers' Fate in Hands Of Township Committee
Committee members still considering authorizing township to use county dispatchers.
Dispatchers in the Barnegat Police Department got no answer at Monday’s Township Committee meeting about whether they will still have jobs in the near future.
Committee members were slated to vote on a resolution that asks if they approve authorizing and accepting a shared services agreement with Ocean County for police dispatcher services.
The meeting got underway at 6 p.m. at the municipal building at 900 East Bay Avenue.
