Barnegat Police Don't Think Escaped Con Is Still In Barnegat
Police said information has been received from state Department of Corrections.

Although escaped convict Arthur Buckel is no longer believed to be in Barnegat, Barnegat police will still maintain a strong presence, according to the post on the police department's Facebook page.
The state Department of Corrections informed Barnegat police that Buckel was no longer in the Barnegat area, the post states.

Officers will still respond to any tips or leads in the Barnegat area, the post says.
"Out of an abundance of caution, officers will again be present at all Barnegat schools for the duration of the school day tomorrow," according to the Facebook page. "We appreciate the overwhelming cooperation and support that the Barnegat community has show to us and the many difference law enforcement officers and agencies that have assisted us over the past 30 hours."

Barnegat officials and police said at a morning press conference Buckel could be headed to the Berkeley Township area.
