Barnegat, Stafford Police Get Dozens Of Fireworks Complaints
The Ocean County skies looked like 'Magic Kingdom,' according to Barnegat police.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Although most officials fireworks displays were canceled, Ocean County still looked like "Magic Kingdom," according to Barnegat police. The department received 64 calls about fireworks in the first four days of July, including 38 on Independence Day.
Of the 38 complaints received Saturday, 28 cam from 8-9:30 p.m. "Several" people were charged with illegal fireworks use or possession, according to police.
Barnegat police only received one fireworks complaint from July 1-4, 2019. The police department mapped out where they received complaints. See below:

Stafford Fireworks Data
Stafford police received 67 fireworks complaints last weekend, according to Captain James R. Vaughn. In 2018 and 2019, they responded to 22 and 23 fireworks complaints, respectively.

Most complaints over the past few years came from Beach Haven West, Vaughn said.
"Considering many fireworks shows have been delayed or canceled from COVID-19, we anticipated this would occur and had extra patrols through Stafford all weekend," he said.
