Barnegat Police: Tell Us How We're Doing
Residents are asked to fill out survey online so police can improve services.

The Barnegat Police Department is asking residents to fill out an online survey about the agency’s performance and public concerns, according to the department’s Facebook page.
The community survey will help the agency’s compliance with the Commission on Accreditation For Law Enforcement Agencies’ (CALEA) national accreditation standards.
“The anonymous survey seeks opinions with regards to overall agency performance, overall competence of agency employees, citizen’s perceptions of officers’ attitudes and behavior, community concerns regarding safety and security and citizens’ suggestions for improvement,” the department’s post states.

CALEA’s goals include the delivery of public safety services, by maintaining a body of standards, developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives; establishing and administering an accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence, according to the organization’s website.
Barnegat police have used results from prior surveys to shape the department’s goals and planning.
