Barnegat Township School District Welcomes New Administrators
Administrators were hired following extensive interview process.

Administrative changes in the Barnegat Township School District continued this week, as a new vice principal joined the staff at the Brackman Middle School.
Matthew LaGrou, who has about five years experience in administration in Burlington County, has joined the staff at Brackman as a vice principal. The move follows several other moves in recent months, including John Fiorentino being hired as principal at Brackman.
other changes for the disrict are: Dr. Joseph Saxton moved from the High School to the Robert L. Horbelt Elementary School, and Stephen Nichol moved from Brackman Middle School to prinicipal at the High School.

The moves left a vacancy in the middle school's top spot, leading to Fiorentino's hire.
Maurice Owens, who has served in administrative roles at schools throughout South Jersey, also signed on as an interim vice principal at the high school, and will sub in for Tiffany Eberle, who is on a temporary leave.

Also, Michelle Johns now serves as a vice principal and the anti-bullying coordinator at Barnegat High School. Johns appointment as the anti-bullying coordinator followed a motion by Superintenent Karen Wood at the board meeting last night.
Director of Curriculum and Instruction Anthony Scotto told Patch that the hires were made after an extensive interview process, wherein the administrators were interviewed and scored based on their responses. They were then placed into situations that they may encounter on the job, and asked to respond accordingly.
In other school news, administrators announced there will be an informational meeting today, January 30 at 7:30 pm in the Barnegat High School Library for anyone interested in traveling to England and Scotland during the Summer of 2014!
