Barnegat Woman Found With Heroin In Vehicle: Police

The woman had 36 wax folds of heroin and a hypodermic needle, Lakehurst police said.

BARNEGAT, N.J. — Police found a Barnegat woman with 36 wax folds of heroin and a hypodermic needle April 15 in Lakehurst, officials announced Thursday. Melissa A. Deman was pulled over and showed signs she was under the influence, police said.

Police pulled the vehicle over after noticing the Chevrolet Cobald didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign on Rose and Oak Street, officals said. Authorities searched the vehicle and found the suspected heroin and needle, police said.

Deman was charged with heroin possession, drug paraphernalia possession, having a hypodermic needle and being under the influence of CDS, police said. She was issues a summons for the charges and released. Deman will appear in Ocean County Superior Court.
