Beach Replenishment To Start Again On LBI In March - After The Storm
Project should be completed by late May, Army Corps of Engineers says.

The good news is that Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. will be back on Long Beach Island in March to resume beach replenishment work in Beach Haven and Holgate, according to The Sandpaper.
The bad news is that the work will resume weeks after a Nor’easter is expected to pummel the Jersey Coast Friday into Saturday.
State and local officials were furious when the Army Corps of Engineers contractor pulled out of the beach project late last year and moved their dredges to another project.

But a spokesman for the Army Corps said recently that Great Lakes is on schedule to finish the LBI work in late may.
The Army Corps awarded an $128 million contract to Great Lakes in December 2014 to complete the LBI beach renourishment project, a joint effort of the Corps and the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection.

The contractor’s schedule is subject to change due to weather, equipment issues and overall progress.
