Big Fundraiser Festival Planned For Family Of Barnegat Cop

BARNEGAT, NJ — A fundraiser festival Saturday will help the family of a Barnegat police officer who died off-duty. "Hoofy's Fall Fest" takes place from 12-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Barnegat Firehouse on Birdsall Street.

Alex Hoffman, 40, died Oct. 2 of an apparent medical episode while working his second job in Lakewood, according to authorities. He began his career with the Barnegat Police Department in 2003 and is survived by his wife and two children.

Fundraiser admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds will support Hoffman's family. The event will feature beer, barbecue, food trucks and kid's activities.

Checks can be sent to the Barnegat PBA, at P.O. Box 100, Barnegat, NJ 08005. You can also drop checks off at police headquarter during the day.
