At the Mirage, Football Is in Full Swing
Deputy Mayor Al Cirulli proves the difference as Team Mirage wins their third in a row...
The Barnegat seniors continue to prove that the activities do not stop after softball.
As proven in the past, cold weather and snow do not seem slow these hearty seniors down. Each Saturday morning the boys meet at the Brackman soccer field for what always proves to be a rigorous and competitive game of football.
John Vaccarrello and Pat Pipi started football at the Mirage five years ago and in the last couple of years they decided to open it up to any Barnegat resident 55 years or older.

Deputy Mayor Al Cirulli, defensive back, and Committeeman Marty Lisella, quarterback, have been a big part of the program and continue to be our biggest supporters.
Marty's lasers are always on target but last week it was Al who got the game ball, despite just four months removed from rotator cuff surgery and against doctor's orders. He could not resist playing. Al stepped up big for Team Mirage as he shut down Team Barnegat's wide receivers all game long and made a key interception to preserve the win and give Team Mirage their third win of the season without a loss.

"Our hopes are that as the season goes along more and more players will come out and join in the fun" says John V.
