Joan Desfosse is a Certified member of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators founded under NYS Education law. She tutors individuals in Reading,Writing and Spelling. The Orton-Gillingham approach is a multi-sensory, phonics based,structured,sequential and cumulative method of direct instruction. Each lesson is prescriptive and designed to meet the individual's needs and scaffolds on previous learning with an emphasis on learning to automaticity.
