Coastal Ocean Beach Report For June 19, 2016

Sunny skies, but rip current risk increases.

Stay close to the lifeguards if you're planning on swimming today.

The National Weather Serviceis predicting a moderate risk of rip currents up and down Ocean County. That means wind or wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Don't go in the water without a floatation device.

Skies will be sunny, with high temperatures in the upper 70s. Beach winds will be southwest at five to 10 miles per hour.

The water temperature is still a chilly 66 degrees. Waves will be around three feet, with easterly swells.

Don't forget the sunscreen. The NWS is calling for a UV index of 10, which is very high. There is no lightning threat.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 7:45 a.m. Low tide will occur at 1:52 p.m. followed by another high tide at 8 p.m.
