The Township Committee gathers tonight for a 5 p.m. workshop meeting followed by its usual 6:30 p.m. Committee meeting in the municipal courtroom. Here are a few agenda items to be addressed:
- A resolution in the consent agenda awards a five-year contract for Barnegat's solid waste collection to Waste Management of New Jersey, Inc.
- A separate resolution rejects all bids for recycling pickup.
- Also in the consent agenda are resolutions authorizing the release of performance guarantees for the Carriage Estates development's water and sewer systems.
- The Committee plans to award Schaefer Pyrotechnics the contract for the Pirate's Day fireworks show on Sept. 10.
- This will be the final meeting before promary elections for two open seats on the Committee – to be held tomorrow – so it's likely the will be present.
