Committee Meeting Agenda Preview

The Barnegat Township Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. today in the . Here are a few things on the relatively short agenda for tonight:

• An ordinance authorizing the township's acquisition by gift of a two-lot parcel of land.

• The appointment by resolution of Robert Mancini as a volunteer firefighter for the .

• A resolution declaring Oct. 19 "Pretty in Pink Day," a county-wide declaration of support for breast cancer awareness that calls on people everywhere to don pink for the day. The county has specified a mid-October day for the celebration for several years.

Included in the consent agenda are a number of resolutions requesting approval of expenditures made possible by the receipt of various grants. These include:

• The Alcohol Rehab Fund, $3,066.66
• The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, $400
• Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities grant, $20,000
• Cops in Shops grant, $1,600
• Recycling Tonnage grant, $25,400.06
