Barnegat Township Administrator David Breeden said today that the Township Committee made the decision to postpone tonight's regular meeting in order to finalize details of the municipal budget, which will be presented to the public at the rescheduled meeting next Monday, May 23.

"We have a lot of items that we recently completed that will have a positive impact on the budget," Breeden said, including switching to the state health care plan for township employees and the concessions made by employees' unions.

In addition, he said, the township has received some "very favorable" bids for solid waste collection within Barnegat, and is still weighing its options.
