Why is Ocean County spending money advertising for golfers this month? Is the Forge Pond course losing money?
The photo shows the county’s ad printed in this week’s ValPak mailer.
Taxpayers are entitled to see the financial books to ascertain whether this and the other county golf facilities (including the new ”golf learning center” in OC Park) are a burden on residents. Golf -- played by a small minority of people in the county, besides the freeholders -- shouldn’t be a drain on taxpayers. It should be self-sustaining with user fees.
