The County will collect hazardous materials in Long Beach Township.
LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ — Ocean County is offering a chance to dispose of materials with hazardous waste. Local collection will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Long Beach Township Department of Public Works (7910 Long Beach Blvd.).
Register by calling 609-978-0913. County residents and farmers can dispose of materials such as old paint, pesticides and many other household products with potentially hazardous materials. Businesses and government agencies aren't eligible.
“This is the perfect opportunity to clean out those old products that can pose a threat to the environment and should not be thrown away with everyday trash,” said Freeholder Gary Quinn, liaison to the Department of Solid Waste Management.
