Drunk Driver Charged With Assault By Auto In Stafford: Prosecutor
Officials flew two people to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A Little Egg Harbor man was charged with two counts of assault by auto after a July 25 accident in Manahawkin, officials announced Friday. Hunter Dyer operated under the influence in a crash that sent two people to the hospital, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
Stafford police responded to a three-vehicle crash July 25 around Route 72 West and East Bay Avenue. Investigation revealed a Dyer's 2012 Hyundai traveled eastbound at "an extremely high rate of speed," the OCPO said.
His vehicle subsequently hit a 2015 Lexus and then a 1999 Lincoln, which were both moving westbound, authorities said. The Lincoln collided with the shoulder guardrail and rotated several times. Two of the passengers were flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
