Elderly Barnegat Man's SUV Overturns In Crash: Cops

An 81-year-old man came away with minor injuries after his vehicle violently rotated and flipped onto its roof, police said.

An elderly man's vehicle flipped onto its roof after he hit a parked car Wednesday morning in Stafford, police said. The 81-year-old man drove a white Cadillac SUV into the shoulder before the collision made it violently rotate on Nautilus Drive near Windlass Drive, according to police.

Patrick Soricello was airlifted to Atlantic City Trauma Center for minor injuries, police said. The Barnegat resident was still seat belted when emergency services arrived, according to police. Soricello's passenger, who police did not name, was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for minor injuries, police said.

Authorities temporarily detoured Nautilis Drive for 40 minutes to investigate the scene, police said. Officer Justin Pascale will continue to investigate the crash.
