Elect Denise Pilovsky & Bill Cox Fundraiser Event
Friday, August 14th at the Barnegat American Legion Hall, 499 North Main Street, Barnegat from 6pm - 9pm.

The upcoming election in November might very well be the most important in recent Barnegat history. Barnegat has seen our taxes rise again and again. Barnegat has seen home values plummet. Barnegat has seen our services diminish. We are going three years on not having a grocery store in town. You can drive around and see home after home with overgrown lawns and for sale signs on them. We see one unfinished project after another. There appears to be no direction coming from our elected leaders. This has to stop before it is too late. The battle cry is being heard loud and clear “I’m as mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore!”
Barnegat already has one of the highest tax rates of any township in Ocean County. We see that again this year taxes are being raised and that does not even include the bond that just passed for over 5.5 million dollars. We cannot and should not attempt to solve our woes by kicking the expense down the road. We are outspending our assets every year. We are headed down the same road as many of those people who have abandoned their homes here. They were overextended; they could not afford to pay their bills. Barnegat cannot do that, we are a town and it is OUR TOWN and needs to be taken back.
The president of the Barnegat Republican Organization stood at the podium at the July 20th township meeting and said “Barnegat has never had rateables and never will!” That is one heck of an attitude to have when dealing with OUR TOWN. If our present mayor and her running mate win the November election, every member of the township committee will be a member of that very same Barnegat Republican Organization. Ask yourself if that is what you want to lead Barnegat into the future and this troubled economy?
