Liz loved sewing, reading and art. She remained an active painter throughout her life. Liz and her husband retired early and she lived the rest of her life at the New Jersey shore, where she enjoyed growing herbs in the raised gardens her husband built for her and boating on Barnegat Bay.

A serious fan of science fiction, Liz always wanted to travel to outer space, her Klingon name was “KayLiz”. Doug and Liz are both registered as passengers on the InSight Mars mission, scheduled to land on Nov 18. 2018, where they will stay together forever.

Liz was also active in her community. She was a member of the Barnegat ADA Committee, was a member of Bethlehem Chapter Order of Eastern Star and belonged to the Red Hat dining club.

Liz’s final arrangements will be private. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 20 at her home in Barnegat, where a collection of her art will be available for viewing. In lieu of flowers, Liz requests donations be made in her name, “Elizabeth R. Marino M.D.” to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
