"Thoroughly Modern Millie" at Barnegat High School

We are following up last year’s award winning production of The Wizard of Oz with this big, beautiful, and very funny production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. This Tony award winning musical is based on the popular 1967 film of the same title featuring Julie Andrews and Carol Channing. It tells the beautiful story of a small town Midwestern girl who comes to New York City to achieve her goal of becoming a truly modern woman in the roaring twenties. As we follow Millie on her journey into modern womanhood, in the style of musical pastiche, we also get to laugh, love, and learn a bit about ourselves right along with her. Artistically, this production marks the first time that we have staged full tap dance routines, and it offered our theatre company the very exciting opportunity to present choreography and an aesthetic style that is really infused with the culture of this very specific time in America. It is sure to be a wonderful treat for all audiences!! All performances will be conducted in the auditorium at Barnegat High School. The performances will play Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 PM, and there will be a matinee performance on Sunday, April 26 at 2:00 PM.
